Hi, I’m Kirsty Ward.
In the summer of 2023, I moved with my family to Cornwall to begin a new adventure; setting up my practice in tranquil, rural surroundings.
I have studied, travelled and worked in several different industries. However, I discovered the benefits of engaging in therapy to help grow in self-awareness and support me in darker times.
With my mind now opened to this approach, and after three years studying in London I qualified as an integrative counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My approach to counselling
Free2Be is a space for anyone who needs somewhere to simply be themselves. There is no pressure, no judgement, no agenda

For Young People
Free2Be is your space. We can talk, create, explore outside or just play — whatever feels right for you on the day. There’s nothing you must do or say. You are enough just as you are.
For adults
Free2Be is a space where you can simply be yourself. Through conversation, nature, play and creativity, we build a relationship built on trust. Sessions are person led, so we go with how you feel on the day. There are no hidden agendas, no unspoken motives, no goals to meet. I’m not here to fix you, just to offer an honest, open space where you are welcomed and valued exactly as you are.
For Parents and Carers
Free2Be offers children and young people a trusted, safe space built on genuine relationship. Sessions are child led, they choose what to do and when. We discuss boundaries around safety but that is it.
I’m here to offer them a space to simply be themselves, where they are welcomed, accepted unconditionally and valued exactly as they are.
It is in this safe, accepting space the children and young people discover for themselves what they need.
My qualifications
I am qualified from Terapia/Middlesex University with a post-graduate diploma in integrative child and adolescent counselling and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I have been working as a sessional counsellor with various local mental health charities and grown my experience while learning about the difficulties our community faces.
My academic background extends beyond counselling. I have always been drawn to understanding people, our motivations, what makes us who we are, and what helps us flourish. My BSc in Psychology and MA in Philosophy reflect that curiosity, bringing both an understanding of how we think and feel, and the bigger questions of what it means to be human. Both continue to inform and enrich my work at Free2Be.
